5 Reasons Why I Fell in Love with Florence

4. The prices

Yes, you read that correctly. And yes, I am aware that it is a rather odd thing to list but hear me out.

Things are expensive in America.

Want an iced vanilla latte with non-dairy milk from a coffee shop? Get ready to pay at least $7. Or do you just want a bottle of water to quench your thirst? Good luck finding one for less than $2.

However, in Florence, my hard-earned American dollars went a long way.

My mouth dropped when I purchased two bottles of water and a caffè latte with soy milk for less than $5 at Bar Jolly Caffè, located at Borgo Ognissanti, 94R, 50123.

I was also floored by how I never incurred additional charges for any modifications or substitutions to my coffee order and how, when buying gelato, I only paid one small price for up to three flavors.

Now, I do understand that things are much cheaper in Florence because the salaries are lower. But as someone who was visiting from a country where the prices are high, it was a much-welcome breather for my bank account.
