Season 3
Loved: Ashley Marin all booed up
Ashley is one of my favorite parents on the show. Sure, her judgment was questionable at times, but Hanna was always her top priority. She did whatever she felt was necessary to take care of her daughter, and I loved her for it.
But despite being the best (and hottest!) single mom on the block, Ashley didn’t have much luck in the man department. Hanna’s father left her for his mistress and now wife, Isabel. And Ashley engaged in nothing more than an *ahem* unorthodox situationship with Rosewood detective Darren Wilden.
Enter Ted Wilson, a pastor at the local church. He was caring, compassionate, considerate and quite the silver fox, if you ask me.
It was so nice to finally see Ashley with a good man. After all she’d been through, she deserved it.
Hated: Watching Spencer spiral after finding out that Toby is”A”
Remember that newly warmed heart Spoby gave me in Season 1? Well, thanks to Toby, it’s been flash-frozen and fractured in one fell swoop.
Although it’s later explained why he did what he did, it still hurt to watch Spencer react to (what appeared to be) one of the biggest betrayals in the series.
I mean, she discovered (on their anniversary) that Toby had teamed up with her archenemies. You know, the same group of people who had a habit of blackmailing and framing her and her friends as well as, um, killing folks.
So, yeah, not the ideal situation.
And while Spencer was known for being a tightly wound brainiac, the more she searched for answers, the more she unraveled. It only makes sense that, after so much bending, she would eventually snap.
Troian Bellisario’s phenomenal performance earned her a Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actress – Drama that year.
