What I loved and hated about each season of Pretty Little Liars

Season 1

Loved: Spencer and Toby

I have the urge to fill this entire page with Spoby gifs. But I’ll refrain.

For real, though, I can’t with these two. The evolution of their relationship from friends to partners is so darn sweet. They protect and support each other in a way that almost makes you forget they’re only teenagers.

And Toby Cavanaugh’s transformation from the town’s Boo Radley to Spencer’s beloved beau was enough to warm my refrigerated heart.

There’s not much more I can say. I adore them. That’s it. The end.

Hated: The number of men who are into teenage girls

Rosewood, Pennsylvania, is an odd little town, complete with men who are attracted to high-school girls.

First up is Ezra Fitz, the adorable English teacher who dates Aria despite the fact that she is his student. He’s around 23 years old. Mmmkay.

Next, we have Wren Kingston, Spencer’s future brother-in-law, who kisses her behind her older sister’s back. He also admits, in a delicious British accent, that he wishes he’d met her first. Oy.

Then, we later find out that Ian Thomas, another of Spencer’s sister’s suitors, hooked up with her and Ali the previous year. Both girls were 15 at the time.

Last but not least, there’s Garrett Reynolds, Rosewood cop and main squeeze of 16-year-old Jenna Marshall. He is somewhere between the ages of 24 and 26. Ew.

I don’t care if the age of consent is 16 in Pennsylvania. Doesn’t make it any less weird or creepy.
