1. The food
If I am being completely honest here, the food was my main reason for taking this trip to Italy. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
The fresh bread, the savory pasta, the hearty pizza – all was as scrumptious as I thought it would be.
Speaking of pizza, I must note that the best I’ve ever had (no exaggeration) was at Gustapizza, located at Via Maggio, 46r, 50125.
Sitting in the middle of the restaurant, I ravenously sank my teeth into the Calabrese, a pie with spicy salami (think American pepperoni), tomato, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. Needless to say, I ate the whole thing.
And I have Season 22 of Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives to thank for that palate-pleasing discovery.
Also, despite my lactose intolerance, I indulged in my fair share of creamy, luscious gelato – because, you know, Italy!
