5. The sights
Again, I am not an art, history, or even an art history person. However, that did not deter me from gawking at what Florence offers in those areas.
The level of care and detail in the architecture and sculptures were enough for me to stop (literally, stop walking) and take in the beauty of it all.
Even a local pharmacy, Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella (the oldest pharmacy in the world) was gorgeous!
Something else that made my eyes pop was the immense talent of the artists stationed in front of the Uffizi Gallery near the Piazza della Signoria.
One of which was Mario Russo, whose flair for drawing human faces prompted me to get one done of my niece.
As expected, he did a fantastic job, providing my brother with a one-of-a-kind gift that was well worth the 70 Euros.
