3. Willy Wonka, of course!
No offense to little Charlie, but Wonka is the best character in this film.
(Yes, I know there is that one scene where he yells at Charlie and Grandpa Joe; however, it’s excusable, if you ask me.)
But despite the aforementioned outburst, Wilder does a fantastic job of getting us to like a character who’s bizarre, eccentric and a tad condescending. From his wacky wardrobe to his wacky words to his wacky work habits, Wonka captivates us from beginning to end.
Although, when you think about it, the best thing about him is his blatant indifference when the kids pay the price for acting a fool in his factory. He shows literally no desire to save them from themselves.
Considering the way they behaved, who could blame him?
